Joining DW

It's been a long time since I last joined a site like Livejournal or Dreamwidth. I have another account hooked up to my old Livejournal, but I'd rather start fresh and just... exist.

My partner says there are kink memes still available on Dreamwidth. On top of that, there are also fandom challenges and events that I'm interested in keeping in touch with. So I've joined in order to do all of the above, as well as make friends and see what happens. Chances are that I'll just abandon this account like I do every other journal because I suck at it.... but who knows! We'll see!

 I want to write more. I want to write fic and participate in fandom and just... have fun! I miss fandom.... I want to become prolific. I want to spend most of my time writing, improving. So that's what I'll aim to do.

Welcome back to fandom, me. Here's to hoping it's everything I've been looking for!

P.S. Were the icons always so blurry? I don't remember it being that way, but I've been known to have a faulty memory, lol.

Welcome back!! :D Spotted your intro on addme_fandom! We don't have many fandoms in common (except maybe for SG:A though it'd been a loooong time since I read for it :D) but I really appreciate all your goals and wishes expressed here :D There are writing challenges on Dreamwidth (like getyourwordsout, which I've joined the last 3 years, or inkingitout, or many more :D) that I find super encouraging. I hope you'll find what you're looking for, too! Happy creating and getting back into things :D

It's so fair not to have as much in common. Some of my interests are a little out there -- though, EYYY, SGA is always great to talk about. I haven't participated in that fandom in a long time, but I do still love it. It was one of my main fandoms when I was a teenager. ♥

Thanks for introducing me to those communities! I've never heard of them, but I'm definitely going to check them out and see how I can participate. Happy creating to you as well!

I think having Fandom itself in common is plenty, and quite common around Dreamwidth :D Interests and fannish focuses do tend to come and go!!

I saw in your sticky you also welcome Dreamwidth tips, I happen to have a collection of these in case you find something of interest in there :D getting_started's a good resource to ask all sorts of questions as well.

For GYWO at least, they only do sign-ups in December/January, but there are other comms like that, too. Thanks for the creative wishes, too :D <3

That's extremely true. I have ADHD and my hyperfixations tend to come and go quickly, though I maintain a few "main" fandoms of interest permanently at the same time. So yeah, things coming and going? Happens to me frequently. Just the last two months alone has seen me cycling between creating journals (such as a reading, regular, and d&d physical journal), reading, ACOTAR, and DropOut (a streaming service that focuses on D&D Campaigns). So, honestly, I do welcome anyone that wants to be friendly!

OH, I would _love_ DW Tips. I have no idea what I'm doing. I'm mostly vibing and drawing off of old LiveJournal memories, lmao. Thanks for linking that community, though. I'll definitely check it out!

Yeah, I did notice that I missed the deadline for that. I wouldn't have been able to do it back then anyway because I was doing another fandom event at the time, haha. But for the future? Absolutely!
