My Apartment Sucks

So the plumbing just fell off under the sink in the kitchen. It smells awful, too. DX It flooded the room, of course, which sucks. I've had flooding issues before from the kitchen because my landlord uses under the table dealings instead of professionals to fix things, but this is ridiculous. The worst thing is that the office is closed on the weekends, so I can't even start the process of getting it fixed until Monday. Ugh.

I wish I could say this was the only issue I've had with this apartment, but it's not. The ceiling in the bathroom has fallen in a few times due to a leak they can't seem to fix. The toilet and the bathtub occasionally fill with sewage. The hot water tank shares a wall with my bedroom, so even though I have the heat off all year round, it's constantly 80+ degrees in the apartment. It's super hot all the time! It also broke last year and flooded the carpet, which then went on to grow mushrooms.

This post is literally just an excuse to complain about the shitty apartment that my partner and I live in. We're saving up to move, but it cannot go fast enough. It's going to take a while, and we just have to deal with it in the meantime. I hate it here. Between all of that and shitty neighbors (including one that parks his car up against the side of the building outside our bedroom window), it really just sucks here. There's no redeemable qualities, especially considering the rent goes up every year.

UGH the WORST. i have a messed up pipe like this in the bathroom...it's literally propped up with a soda bottle....

there are so many shitty rentals and they're not cheap either. it seems renting (and landlords) is/are shit everywhere...

YEAH, EXACTLY. I'm so sorry that you have a very similar issue. No one should have to deal with shit like this, and it's a shame that we do. I believe you're right, that landlords suck no matter where you're at!

Oh nooooo. I'm so sorry! This shit fucking sucks, jesus christ. Pipe Smell is also so pungent, too... I hope that when you can report it, they fix it super quickly!

And I feel you about shitty apartments. It's expensive to leave but psychologically draining to stay. And I also feel you very much on the rent front, haha. My landlord put my rent up by 25% this year--which is totally legal here--so... ugh. I hope things get better for you soon!

It's literally just the worst. We have a super shitty apartment complex with a landlord who doesn't care and only fixes things in the cheapest way possible. Yes, though, pipe smell is disgusting. It's not as bad as the sewage coming up in the bath tub, but it's still not great either.

25% up on rent?! That's crazy!! I would die. We're both on disability, so we can only really afford so much. I think they could probably do that here as well, and we're just lucky that they don't. An apartment complex across the street evicted everyone, renovated, and is now charging exorbitant prices.
