cinderlite | Good Omens, anyone? [No spoilers!]

Has anyone else watched the newest season of Good Omens yet?

My partner and I watched it separately the day of release, but came together to talk about it after. We've been roleplaying it ever since! It's my newest hyperfixation. I'm absolutely obsessed, and it's all I'm thinking about. It's so nice to have a new hyperfixation again. I missed the motivation that comes with it. I feel like I could do just about anything!

While my partner takes a small break from the roleplay, I'm working on a fic for it (so look out for that! soon!). The fic I'm working on is about Aziraphale's Fall from grace, and the aftermath of it. 😇 I've got about 1,000 words for it so far, but I should finish it some time within the next few days (outside of appointments I have).

It's going to be a relatively short fic, but that's mostly because I'm testing the waters with it. I'm still figuring out what my Aziraphale and Crowley are like and tweaking them until they sound just right.

I'll admit, it's weird to have a ship that's so wholesome. Usually, I can only get into the enemies to lovers dynamic and while that's not wrong for Aziracrow, that aspect is already explored in canon. There's no need to rehash that.

Anyway, I would love to have someone to talk to about Good Omens! It's so good, and I just want to scream about it some more.

I finished the new season last night and WOW. It blew me away, I'm shocked and elated and emotionally shattered all at once. Aziracrow have my entire heart right now I love them so much :3

Omg, isn't it stunning? I love that ship so much. The new season was so good. I also wasn't expecting Ineffable Bureaucracy to become canon, but, wow, do I love it. The end of the season tore my heartstrings. "Nothing lasts forever," he said, and I screamed.

It absolutely is! Okay yes, ineffable bureaucracy came out of left field and hit me over the head but I couldn't be more happy with it, they're so cute!

Right?! Like, I knew there were fans of Ineffable Bureaucracy, but I never expected it to become CANON. It was so sweet though. Also, hilarious, because they speed ran their romance and got farther than Ineffable Husbands in a much shorter amount of time. LOL

They're just built different. Maybe the fact that they hadn't been friends since the literal beginning of time made it easier for them to confess, I don't know. I totally wasn't expecting to ship them so hard by the end of that episode but oh my gosh they're so cute. They've got a song and everything, like, that's adorable.

AGREED. I adore them. Like I had an inkling about them before, but it wasn't full blown as shipping yet. It was just, "I could see it as a crack ship!" but SURPRISE. Their song was lovely though, and your right, I think their romance was much more rapid perhaps due in part because of ineffable husbands.

But, god, what got me most was the ending of season two, like the very ending with Aziraphale going ⬆️. That killed me.

AAA. I'm so excited. The Good Omens fic I'm writing is almost done. It's sitting pretty at 5,000 words right now. I'll probably finish it today. I just have to finish this smut scene, and then do a follow-up. I'm thrilled! Can't wait to post it!

I'd seen fic/art of them before (around when season one came out) but more like haha crack art than anything and then Neil canonized it, that absolute madman. He's terrific. Their song IS lovely, I grew up listening to a lot of 50's tunes and that was one of my favorites so it was kind of fun that it was actually plot relevant.

SAME! Killed me dead and then left me to go through the five stages of grief, and about twenty stages of denial. I can't want to see how the fandom deals with it once we've had more time to write fic.

That's so funny! I'd never heard their song before despite listening to music from the 50's (I was raised by my Grandparents), and I wish I had. It would make it more meaningful. My favorite oldies music is like... Unchained Melody by The Righteous Brothers. Anyway, it's a great ship. I see the potential now. My third eye has opened!

EXACTLY. I am eagerly anticipating the fic that will come out of that scene. I was devastated, and I need closure or fix-it fics. I might even write one myself!

Interesting! While it's not usually my go-to, the 50's has a lot of really great songs. Unchained melody is such a good song! I'm not sure I have a favorite tune from that era. Pshh, my third and fourth eyes have been opened. I'm like, all eyes. And they're all crying after that last scene.

It really is a good song! It's so pretty, and it makes me happy. I have a couple other favorite songs from that era, but that's because I heard them on my Grandparent's jukeboxes growing up. I have fond memories.

RIGHT. MINE ARE AS WELL. All the eyes, all the weeping. I was not expecting that, but in retrospect it makes sense. Season 2 is the middle of the series, so of course it would all go to hell.

The HP fandom is really fun to post in. Makes me happy that so many people still adore Snarry like I do, haha. It's fair, though, to call them intimidating. It's a really zealous fandom.

SAME. I have Good Omens brain rot right now. I've spent the entire day downloading obscene amounts of fanart. Both on my computer, on my twitter, and on my tumblr. It's EVERYWHERE. I can't shake it, and tbh I don't want to.

OH MAN, Snarry was my first HP ship. I found a Severitis (where Snape is a parent or parent figure to Harry) fic called "Yet Another Snape Saves Harry from the Dursley's" and it got me into the fandom. I started reading the book after that. Then "A Bittersweet Potion" (it's about how Harry's animagus form is a cat and he is adopted by an unaware Snape) got me into Snarry. I looooooove that ship, and you're right, it's great for Dark fic or just Dead Dove concepts in general. 👏
