Baldur's Gate 3 + Homestuck

Things have gotten a little better since my last post! Sometimes, it's hard to remember that life is a journey that goes downhill as well as uphill. Which is to say that some days are better than others (and some are worse than others). I have more energy than I did before, enough to actually do some things. Which is nice! I love it when my brain actually lets me do stuff!

Baldur's Gate 3: (No Spoilers)
I love this game. I've put in about 40 hours total and I'm still in act 1. I know, I know. That's a lot of time to spend without anything to really show for it. I don't really know what I've been doing with my time, lol. Some days I just don't accomplish anything. It's probably because I was trying to figure out how the mods worked (I wanted pretty armor) or because I reset the game at one point to try again. I'm also using WeMod to make the game fun. I'm not really much of a strategist, so it's pretty necessary if I want to actually beat the game. And I do! It's a lot of fun. I like the characters a lot. I think Lae'zel is my favorite (which is funny, I think, because most people find her to be pretty abrasive). That's what I like about her though. I've always had a thing for girls that are kind of mean.

Homestuck:
I've begun roleplaying with my partner again. It's a lot of fun! It always is, haha. We're doing a roleplay regarding Homestuck, namely the Signless and Nepeta. They're big on the Signless/Disciple relationship, and I think it's pretty sweet, too. So finding a way to include their descendants in the roleplay is key -- and fun. Of course, Karkat is there too. They're all great characters. The other day, we spent like 6 hours just talking about Homestuck one night. It was a great distraction from my own mind. I love when I get the chance to just talk with them for an extended period of time. They always enlighten me with their meta, or explain things from the comic that I missed and make it fit together perfectly like puzzle pieces. They're so good at it. Honestly, my partner is pretty great. I don't think I gush about them as much as they deserve. ♥

i'm glad the depression has ebbed enough that you're able to enjoy things a bit more right now. i plan to buy BG3 myself once i have some spare $, it looks so fun. (also, i have a friend who's still in act I and has about the same amount of hours as you, so you're in good company.)

i had a dirk RP blog almost a decade ago. (i did a double-take when i actually did the math on that one, whoa.) what draws you to the signless and nepeta (either as individual characters to play or as a relationship to explore)? it's not an interaction i've ever thought about, but i can definitely see the potential.

Thank you so much! Depression is such a pain. It's funny because when it's minimal, it's like, "Oh, that wasn't so bad!" Only it was, and your brain is just minimizing the experience in your head. I hope you love BH3 when you get it! It's pretty great. I think my favorite part of the game is getting to see the dice roll. It's just so gratifying to watch/hear. There's also some great sound effects, namely this one sound when going through the inventory and options that just sits so right in my head. ♥ Weird things to name, I know. AND GOOD. I'm glad I'm not the only one that's been idling away the hours doing not as much as I should be, haha.

Dirk!! Oh god, I love that boy. He's such a good character (and what's interesting is that I didn't always like him, but now I adore him). It's both for Signless and Nepeta. Probably it will end up being a quad in the end with Signless, Disciple, Nepeta, and Karkat, but right now we're just focusing on Signless and Nepeta. I really like the dynamic there. Nepeta is such a good character, and she rarely ever gets the attention she deserves. Signless looking at her and seeing her as an extension of his beloved initially causes a good deal of Nepeta angst that's fun to play with, but also him coming to see and love her a person genuinely is wonderful as well. We've got another roleplay with the Disciple and Karkat, and that's fun too since Karkat is such an abrasive character and The Disciple refuses to take his shit. xD

I don't have time for Baldur's Gate 3 right now (I'm crawling my way through Final Fantasy XVI at a pathetic pace :D) but I'm sure I'll get to it eventually, the first game was a formative experience for me!! It makes me really happy to see so many people having a great experience with 3. I know I'll enjoy it too, whenever I get a change too in the future. That's so fair! I hope you're enjoying Final Fantasy XVI, even if you're not making as much progress as you'd enjoy (that's how I feel about Baldur's Gate 3, tbh). Thank you! I'm really enjoying the game, as I'm sure you are with Final Fantasy, and I can't wait to see what happens next, though I'm taking a brief break to roleplay. Haha, thank you again! I have SO many armors to choose from and I love it. It's perfect. ♥ I hope you enjoy it too whenever it is you get around to playing it.
